As a private practice psychologist in London, Ontario, I am committed to helping clients gain the knowledge, skills, and courage to make the changes needed for a meaningful and fulfilling life. As a therapist, I practice from a place of empathy, compassion, and curiosity and strive to provide the highest level of care in a confidential and private manner.
My journey to becoming a therapist started with a Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Western Ontario in 2004. After completing my residency at London Health Sciences Centre, I accepted a position as an Assistant Professor of Psychology at King’s University College at the University of Western Ontario. There I taught courses in clinical, abnormal, counselling, and health psychology. While teaching was an amazing experience, it was at this time that I started my private practice. Doing clinical work confirmed for me that while I loved teaching and working with students, it was in my clinical work that I really found my passion and fulfillment.
These days I am in private practice full-time and loving working with motivated individuals who are seeking personal and/or relational growth and who are ready to tackle the obstacles that are standing in the way of their success. Utilizing both insight-oriented psychodynamic psychotherapy as well as various cognitive-behavioural and relational modalities, I am able to tailor treatment to each individual client. Therapy can help clients better understand themselves and the root of their difficulties while at the same time provide tools and strategies to overcome barriers and gain the skills needed to make lasting change.
